Makita U.S.A., Inc. ("Makita") has recently become aware of fraudulent activity by persons or entities using its name and branding in employment recruiting scams. These scams may appear professional and legitimate. However, they are not legitimate or affiliated with Makita in any way.

Be suspicious if:

• You haven’t applied for a job with Makita but receive an offer of employment
• You receive any unsolicited employment offers and/or unsolicited employment agreement from Makita
• The communications may have misspellings or poor grammar
• You receive employment offers from non-Makita email addresses (e.g.: graduate.org, gmail.com, Hotmail.com, aol.com, etc.)
• You receive requests for sensitive personal information such as a Social Security Number, bank account information or credit card number

Makita Never:

• Sends unsolicited job offers or employment agreements of any kind
• Requests money for the opportunity to apply or work for Makita
• Requests an interview through Google Hangout, text messaging or Skype

Makita has a formal application process that will always include at least one in-person interview with a Makita representative. Makita is not responsible for this or any type of online fraudulent activity involving the use of its name and advises persons to exercise due caution and to follow the guidance provided above.
