Alternatively, if you have previously created an online account with Makita when registering your tool's warranty, We consider your identity to be verifiable if the username and password you provide to Us matches our records.

  California Consumers have the right to designate an authorized agent to make a Request to Know or a Request to Delete on their behalf. However, the process for designating an authorized agent for these purposes and the process by which Makita can verify your identity when a request is made on your behalf by a third person is still being developed by the California Attorney General at the time this Privacy Policy was last revised. Until the California Attorney General finalizes these procedures, we will not be able to honor a Request to Know or a Request to Delete unless it is submitted directly by a consumer.

  Further, California law prohibits Us from discriminating against any consumer who submits a Request to Know or a Request to Delete by, among other things, denying goods or services, charging different prices or rates for goods or services, providing a different level of quality of good or services, or suggesting that the consumer will receive a different price or rate for goods or services or a different level or quality of goods or services.

  With one exception (explained in the following paragraph), all the above information is provided directly to Makita by consumers in the course of: (i) completing paper or online voluntary product warranty registration forms; (ii) voluntarily enrollment to receive Makita's email newsletter; (iii) voluntarily entering into promotional contests/sweepstakes sponsored by Makita; and (iv) contacting Makita's customer assistance department, either via telephone or through an online submission.

  The one exception is that, within the past twelve months, We purchased a list of arborists to whom we marketed a new line of outdoor power equipment products.
